IRUYA: THE HIDDEN AND MAGICAL PLACE

If you like  beautiful landscapes, mountains, good people and nice weather, you should visit Iruya. It´s a pretty small town located in Salta, and it´s 317 kilometers away from the capital of the province also known as Salta. This village is very famous because it looks like it is hanging on the mountains. It is 46km away from the main road but it is a world away. It has a nice view and you can walk all over the town or go hiking to the mountains. You can see a lot of beautiful animals like mules, vicunas, condors and many other animals. Apart from the nature aspect, the town is very much influenced by its culture. You can eat a lot of indigenous foods, listen to folk music, buy handicrafts and enjoy the carnivals (if you go in the right dates).

And if you want to go to a place like La Quiaca or Humahuaca, Iruya can be a very interesting stop.

  This week we had the opportunity to interview Lauren Stahl, a native American born in Michigan, who has lived there all her life. She gave us some insight about what she does for a living and her current studies. Apart from that, this was a particular occasion because it was the last interview of this different yet special year. Lauren has lived in Michigan all her life and has never travelled abroad. For this reason, she doesn't know any differences within cultures.   After a year of waiting and delays, the most famous racing competition finally  took place last weekend. Although, without a public and with a reduced number of teams due to the pandemic. The so far invictus company Toyota has won the 88th competition of Le Mans, and it is the third time in a row. It was also a third consecutive win for driver Sebastien Buemi and Kazuki Nakajima driving. In second place arrived the Rebellion car. Sadly, this was the last year that Rebellion participated in the WEC (World Endurance Competition), and Toyota was left as the only champion in the WEC series.
