LIBERTADORES CUP “CONCENTRATION OR HEALTH BUBBLE

The governing body of South American football explained how the measures will be so that teams that travel abroad should not go into quarantine.

The most obvious problem that teams will have will be flights, the main sources for the spread of the virus. That is why the protocol indicates that all footballers who are going to travel, in addition to the rest of the delegation -coaches, doctors, props and referees-, must take the PCR test before boarding. In order to travel, of course, they must test negative and once they are in a foreign land, where they can stay for a maximum of 72 hours, they will not be obliged to comply with the 14 days of quarantine that countries usually require for those who enter.

Fred Nantes, CONMEBOL's director of competitions, was in charge of explaining it in detail: "They arrive in the country and from the airport they go directly to the hotel. Eventually they may have some training but, beyond that, they only leave the hotel for the match.  In other words, it is a group that is concentrated and much more controlled than any other part of the population of the countries. "
