  JOURNALISTIC VOCATION AND INSPIRATION Last Tuesday, October 20, we had the pleasure of interviewing Pablo Duer: a journalist from our country, who currently resides in Jerusalem (Israel). Nowadays, he is a messenger in charge of reporting everything that happens in the country in terms of politics. What made him choose that career was people (their emotions, stories, experiences, etc.), talking to them, telling their story, allowing them to have a voice, fill it up and inspire it.  A journalist must be curious, good at connecting people, outgoing and intelligent. This features also describe Pablo’s personality. Furthermore, the most important tasks are: not to forget about any stories, look for interesting elements and try to bring new things to reality. Whiplash is the first movie entirely written and directed by Damien Chazelle, one of my favourite directors, probably most known for the extremely successful “Lalaland”. However, it is Whiplash the small and captivating story that firstly introduced many people to this wonderful artist. The story revolves around the conflict between the two main characters, Andrew and Fletcher, and their shared obsession with perfection. Andrew is a young talented drummer who has recently entered a prestigious music academy. Fletcher, impersonated by the fantastic J.K. Simmons, is an old musician that directs the academy’s main jazz orchestra. In the beginning, Fletcher gives Andrew the chance of playing in his band, seeming to be a kind and friendly man, nevertheless, it does not take long before Andrew and the audience discover the truth behind this character.   Directed by Christopher Nolan, Interstellar is a gloriously rich drama set in American Midwest. The three hours fly by as we are captured by the story and its characters, played by a star-studded cast, including Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain and Matt Damon. The plot revolves around Cooper, whose intellect and abilities are needed in a NASA mission aiming to look for a planet that has the right environment to sustain life. The odyssey of the Giles is a very good film. This is a group of neighbors organized to carry out a project to help alleviate the crisis. However, in the midst of this little pen in which they are victims of a lawyer and a banker, they will organize to plan how to recover their savings. I recommend watching The Odyssey of the Giles, why? Well, because it's a very good movie  that will at least guarantee laughter, a development of very good characters, unexpected plot shreds, and very good actors. Shutter Island is a 2010 American psychological thriller film directed by Martin Scorsese and written by Laeta Kalogridis, based on Dennis Lehane's 2003 novel of the same name. Leonardo DiCaprio stars as Deputy U.S. marshal who is investigating a psychiatric facility on Shutter Island after one of the patients goes missing. Mark Ruffalo plays his partner and fellow deputy marshal; Ben Kingsley is the facility's lead psychiatrist; Max von Sydow is a German doctor; and Michelle Williams is Daniels's wife. A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, despite the fall of the Galactic Empire, some remnants still could be found in the most uncivilised places of the galaxy, in the outer rim. These places were useful for bounty hunters and smugglers to find their next job. In this context, our protagonist, the Mandalorian, interpreted by Pedro Pascal, finds himself trapped in a dilemma after he was sent to kill a bounty. This gets trickier when the bounty is revealed as a child, and not a common one. With awesome action scenes, the cutest moments in the TV history, an amazing plot and remarkable directors, such as Jon Favreau, Taika Waititi and Bryce Howard, and of course, with the help of George Lucas and Dave Filoni, this space western delightful and surprises us every minute.   Sadly, the drug-related crisis has been rapidly worsening throughout the years and experts are finding it extremely difficult to stop this delicate and tragic situation. A long time ago, in 2008, Lucasfilm started a project, fully supported by George Lucas. This project consisted of an animated series called “The Clone Wars”. On Tuesday, October 13, we interviewed Mrs Zalazar about her personal life and her academic path. Laura is an Argentine English teacher who worked here in Buenos Aires in some primary and secondary schools. She applied for the Fulbright Scholarship and got elected for an educational exchange program in the United States for one year. She gave us some insight on the TOEFL exam, which is a necessary requirement for foreign students that apply for scholarships in the U.S.A. She also told us about the many trips she has done around the globe. She mentioned that it is difficult to adapt to the American culture since people are different and you don't get to connect with them. Unless they are latinos or Argentines they are not going to stay the whole day in your house. Bariloche woke up today covered with smoke and the smell of different gases due to a fire in the Municipal Urban Waste Center (CRUM) that started yesterday at noon and that persisted during the night until it was suffocated by the Fire Prevention and Fighting Service Forest (Splif). The incident broke out at noon yesterday and initially it was the local workers themselves who tried to extinguish the flames, according to the Río Negro newspaper. After 7:00 p.m., the fire began to increase, so the Splif's help was requested. After intense work during the night, the flames were contained but the smoke took the sky of Bariloche. Pedestrians wearing protective face masks walk past the Westpac Banking Corp Westpac, one of Australia's largest banks, announced the settlement with AUSTRAC, an Australian crime-fighting regulator, for the $ 1.3 billion Australian dollar fine.
