Argentina´s short-live political truce threatens to crumble down

Image
While opponents are saying that Fernandez´s government is threaten democracy, and pro-government turning a blind eye to said accusations, citizens as well as politics are not leaving room to debate; the so call  grieta  is growing exponentially among Argentina´s society. In the middle of this discussion, with insults going back and forth from both parties, last Thursday Fernandez talked about Venezuela, calling for open and clear elections; being politically correct, the President neither acknowledged Maduro´s government, nor did he was in favor of Guaidó’s presidentship. Many believe that there is a hidden reason for this statement, Fernandez is trying to be on the same side as the U.S. government is when closing the debt negotiations.  This article has been written by  Belén GARCEA , Manuel RICCI and  Franco VUGA References democracy .  Obtenido de Buenos Aires Times: https://batimes.com.ar/news/opinion-and-analysis/argentina-great-at-failing-miserably-a...

IN THE NAME OF LOVE

A million stars up in the sky. One shines brighter than the others  just like you in a crowd. I am yours,  just like the stars belong to the sky, like the river belongs to the sea. Every time I hear from you, you mobilize my heart, you make it melt It's time to leave the past. Let me take care of your broken heart and show me how to fly by the angels’s side. The amazing and wonderful city of Doha

Image
Since the 1930s Doha has grown enormously. The centrepiece of the city, Doha Bay was carefully constructed with landfill to make an attractive crescent, along which runs shaded footpaths and cycling tracks. If you are up for a spot of shopping, Doha will not disappoint you. Gulf shopping malls like  City Center-Doha ,  Landmark  and  Hyatt Plaza   appear to be even more opulent versions of American malls. To relax, in Doha there are plenties of beaches such as Katara beach, Bahriya beach and Fuwairit beach. However, for those who are not into beaches or any outdoor places here are some entertaining and interesting locations to visit. Museum of Islamic Art, Katara Cultural Village, AlKoot Fort will provide and teach Doha’s peculiar culture which is so different than ours. Finally, if you are a football lover, you should know that Qatar will host the Football World Cup in 2022. REFERENCES News, B. (5 de Agosto de 2011).  BBC News . Obtenido de http://www.bbc....

A POEM FOR SELF-LOVE

Image
Today we wanted to share a poem about the importance of being healthy not only physically but also mentally. What involves taking care of yourself, your feelings and emotions.   Go into this week with the attitude where your peace, your mind, and your heart mean more than getting everything else done. That your smile matters, That feelings matter. That holding the hand of your loved ones matter. So, pause, function at a way that doesn’t tear you into pieces. Honour the things that make you feel good inside, the things that make you feel alive. Give time to those things this week. Make time the gift it is, by giving it to what really matters to you. VIRTUAL TOURS: THE “TRIPS” ORGANIZED BY SCHOOLS IN QUARANTINE TIMES

Image
Since it’s impossible to make real school trips, schools have planned to make   virtual tours  due to the pandemic during 2020.  It’s basically like going to educational trips because these visits include a guided tour, photos of the place and videos showing different parts of the area. It’s a good way to carry out activities that have been planned. Some places offer visits for free, and are opened to anyone who would like to spend a few hours learning about almost  anything. It’s working very well in primary schools, but it’s being difficult for teens  in secondary school, since they don’t show the same kind of interest and fascination as kids usually have. Both Samsung and Apple agreed in stop selling chargers alongside their phones

Image
In the last few days, it has been said that two of the world’s biggest smartphone makers decided not to offer charges in the upcoming phones, beginning in 2021. The main reason for this decision revolves around the positive benefits it would have on the environment. This is because plenty of the potential buyers already count with their personal charger, so providing a new one would cause an accumulation of unused ones, and the electronic waste would grow bigger and bigger. In addition to this, the cost of the product would decrease as well, making it more accessible for the community and cheaper for the company to produce.  Nevertheless, the rumour still needs to be confirmed but these companies have already obtained the world’s approval. Trump decides to endanger students

Image
As we all know, the pandemic has affected most services in the world, and schools have been no exception. Most schools in countries that are experiencing high rates of COVID-19 cases are closed and offering online classes.  In the United States there's an ongoing coronavirus outbreak that does not allow schools to reopen, but Trump says that he will not allow the online teaching continue for the recommended amount of time. He threatened to cut down financial support for the districts that stick to a social distancing protocol, putting them between a rock and a hard place. The stance taken from the president of the United States has already been denied by some districts, for example, in Los Angeles, the chief public health officer told school officials that online learning will continue until the outbreak in California stops. VILLA TRAFUL

Image
On our last school trip, we went to Villa Traful, a small quiet place full of gorgeous sights located in Neuquen. We stayed in a camping surrounded   by mountains and an incredible lake. It was a different trip compared to the previous ones and in our opinion, the best one. Gabo and Cecilia organized a lot of entertaining activities such as canoing on the lake, mountain biking and vivac which consist in building a shelter in order to spend a whole night. In our free time, we played volleyball a lot, and we even bet a coke against the teachers, who still owe it to us. However, the best part of it was that we spent for the last time, a beautiful trip with all our friends and teachers, and we lived wonderful moments that we will never forget. July 9 for children

Image
Many years ago, in 1816, in a very small province in Argentina, something very, very important happened. The representatives of each province would meet there to sign an Act declaring Independence, they wanted to be free from the King of Spain. The first steps had already been taken on May 25, 1810. The representatives of each province, had to travel a lot to get to Tucumán, at that time there were no planes or cars like there are now. The deputies travelled on stagecoaches, carts, and on horseback. The trip was very tiring, they were cold, and they had to eat by the side of the road or get to some inns, to rest for a while and eat there as well. It was a huge sacrifice, but they were happy to be able to do something so important for their country and for the Argentine people. They were tired of depending on a king from another country. In Tucumán all the people were waiting for them, they prepared the largest house in the city that was the house of Mrs. Francisca Bazán ...

There are a lot of things to do in Greece, but one of the most famous places to visit is Mykonos. An island which has beaches where you can relax, enjoy the sunset and take a boat ride around. "CATARATAS DEL IGUAZÚ" A MAGICAL PLACE TO VISIT

Image
Puerto Iguazú is a city in the province of Misiones, in the extreme northeast of Argentina. It has more than 60,000 inhabitants and stands out for its triple border with Brazil and Paraguay. The centre of this city is 17 km from the Iguazú Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the world. It is more than 2 km of waterfalls that exceed 70 meters height, a spectacle of one of the scarcest resources on the planet: water. The jumps along the cliffs form a crescent thus giving a geographical accident to enjoy. The park was created in 1934 and has high scientific value since it offers the possibility of studying species that are in danger of extinction such as the jaguar. Belgrade protesters attack Serb parliament due to coronavirus curfew

Image
Nowadays, Serbia is facing a growing opposition when it comes to coronavirus measures, with protests that began peacefully but now are far away from that.  It all started on Tuesday 7th evening with a massive crowd, which included students and families, that were fighting for a re-impose of a weekend curfew, due to the notorious rise in coronavirus infections. Protesters accused the government of hiding information about the infected and of an inefficient management of the virus situation. Filled with anger, they broke into the assembly, forcing the police to intervene to control them. Consequently, police cars were fired and tear gas was dispersed.  The president described the situation as the most brutal political violence for years and appealed for the protest to end, citing the risk of increased infection. The George Floyd protests may become a defining moment in the future of American politics

Image
Winning elections requires much more than voting on November 3. Highly engaged activists rallying their social networks to turn out to vote will be crucial to this year polls success. It is clear that organizations play an important role in channeling the outrage and enthusiasm of the activism into streets into efforts to register and turnout voters. The recent protests have emerged despite limited organizational infrastructure. Whether protesters can leverage this moment of heightened engagement and participation into meaningful political change may hinge on the abilities of organizations to develop the capacity to work in communities. Some kind of Wonderful

Image
This song was written by Jason Mraz. “Life is Wonderful” reminds us that even at the time of Covid-19, there are still experiences for us listeners that make life glorious. As Jason says, "life is wonderful and meaningful", but we realize about this, when we cannot enjoy it at its fullest. The phrases “It takes some cold to know the sun” and “It takes a hole to make a mountain” made us think that we could, instead of seeing all the negative aspects self-isolation has, think of this process as a  necessary one for things to get better and, therefore, take the time, to give family and friends the value they deserve.  This Article has been written by: GARCEA Belén, RICCI Manuel and VUGA Franco

Venezuela's serious accusation against Argentina

Image
The Argentine government rejected Venezuela's accusations against the Caracas ambassador, Eduardo Porretti, of being part of a "conspiracy" against the Nicolás Maduro regime along with other countries and endorsed all the actions of the Argentine diplomat. Yesterday Diosdado Cabello, denounced that a meeting had been organized in the Spanish Embassy against the Chavista regime. The Government of Alberto Fernández maintained that this meeting was an official reception for the dismissal of two diplomats, and that the Argentine ambassador presented the documents in due form to attend this meeting. The Argentine Defense Ministry do not understand this accusation since, for this government, Venezuela is not a threat to Argentina.  The Mexican government is also accused of conspiracy against Venezuela for the same reason. TRIP TO VILLA TRAFUL

Image
Along the years a lot of trips have been organized at Ángel D’Elía Institute. All of them have been amazing experiences to share and tell. Today, due to COVID-19, we have the opportunity to tell you about last year’s school trip to Villa Traful , online with you! Let’s start by saying it was a beautiful place, full of peace and kindness. As it was our last school trip, we tried to enjoy it from the first to the last second. Most of us had an amazing time getting to know each other. A lot of new friends were made. We spent for sure a fun time. One of the funniest anecdotes was the one we went to Nahuel Huapi lake. There was a beautiful view and we were able to do kayaking. The water was freezing  but we were wearing wetsuits. We ran a lot of careers on the water, not only among  students, but also with teachers (Anecdote, 2020) This article has been written by PEZZOLO Candelaria, SMARIO Carola and MULLER Valentina.
