Argentina´s economy threatens to crumble down while President Fernandez tries to come to an agreement with creditors
Having extended the mandatory lockdown for the Buenos Aires metropolitan region until 17 July, the government´s cabinet has other problems that need to be dealt with immediately as well.
To begin with, even though governments´ aid has benefited the lower class, the vast majority of the economically active population struggles to make ends meet and, therefore, starts to close down their businesses while CABA begins to reopen their economy. Secondly, the administration now embarks on a race against time to: resolve Argentina´s macro-economic problems and imbalance (concerning the fiscal situation and printing money), make our economy sustainable again (35,000 of Argentinian companies are considering to close their business) and revert the social consequences left behind by the pandemic and the previous mandate.REFERENCES
