THE VENUS AWAKENS
Telescopes have detected unusually high concentrations of the molecule phosphine, a stinky, flammable chemical, associated with microbial activity. It is worth highlighting that it is a by-product of metabolic processes in living creatures. Phosphine is a relatively simple molecule containing one phosphorus atom and three hydrogen atoms.
So, is there life on Venus? This answer might be answered in some years, when the “Venus in-situ Explorer” arrives on Venus. This NASA´s project is supposed to be launched in 2022, as a part of the “New Frontiers” program.
