As we know the COVID-19 pandemic, in addition to leaving several sick and dead, it also pushes people into a state of poverty, which in turn leads to not having to buy food for their families. The UN's global food programme has warned about this, giving figures in Latin America and the Caribbean, of nearly 14 million people, and possibly expecting 10 million more.
In the case of Argentina, this situation is being more or less controlled, since the government supports these sectors most in need, with the IFE, or handing out bags of food. If you look at the city, we see that several canteens are getting more assistance with food, this is because the Government of Buenos Aires tripled these assistance, according to records from the Ministry of Human Development and Habitat. Another positive point is that children who attend school canteens are followed by handing over their lunch and snack in food baskets, continue to be delivered on winter holidays.
in the province we also see a large increase in food assistance, plans for community canteens, such as in Mendoza, Cordoba, Santa Fe, among others. Although most of them are in the final stage of mandatory preventive isolation, taking up various economic activities, but always respecting protection measures.
