LATAM AIRLINES DEPARTS ARGENTINA

In the last few days the Chilean-Brazilian airline announced that the company will stop their activities and leave the country because of the Covid-19 pandemic. They said that the activities will cease “indefinitely” after the arrival 15 years ago. The government and the labor unions will have to negotiate with LATAM to define the dissmisal compensations because the departure of the company will leave more than 1700 employees without being able to work. The media has been talking about the possibility of a double indemnity but this will be too expensive for a company that has been very affected in this pandemic context. However, the airline will be able to perform international flights but the internal flights will no longer be available.

To begin with, even though governments´ aid has benefited the lower class, the vast majority of the economically active population struggles to make ends meet and, therefore, starts to close down their businesses while CABA begins to reopen their economy. Secondly, the administration now embarks on a race against time to: resolve Argentina´s macro-economic problems and imbalance (concerning the fiscal situation and printing money), make our economy sustainable again (35,000 of Argentinian companies are considering to close their business) and revert the social consequences left behind by the pandemic and the previous mandate.   This week we had the opportunity to interview Lauren Stahl, a native American born in Michigan, who has lived there all her life. She gave us some insight about what she does for a living and her current studies. Apart from that, this was a particular occasion because it was the last interview of this different yet special year. Lauren has lived in Michigan all her life and has never travelled abroad. For this reason, she doesn't know any differences within cultures.   After a year of waiting and delays, the most famous racing competition finally  took place last weekend. Although, without a public and with a reduced number of teams due to the pandemic. The so far invictus company Toyota has won the 88th competition of Le Mans, and it is the third time in a row. It was also a third consecutive win for driver Sebastien Buemi and Kazuki Nakajima driving. In second place arrived the Rebellion car. Sadly, this was the last year that Rebellion participated in the WEC (World Endurance Competition), and Toyota was left as the only champion in the WEC series.
