COVID-19 AND ITS EFFECTS ON THE ENVIRONMENT
-
The COVID-19 disease is spread throughout the world and social distancing measures are notably impacting the environment. The pandemic has forced to freeze the activity of industrial sites, educational sectors, businesses, etc., reducing the release of toxins, thus improving air quality. Vehicular activity is one of the largest toxin emitters, but when the mandatory quarantine is issued, this movement is substantially less, so the air quality has improved even more. COVID-19 could serve as an alert to future pandemics since global warming could unleash unknown diseases trapped in ice. Ensuring that global warming and climate change do not disturb the health of our planet remains of utmost importance. Climate activism continues, despite cancellations to major summits, related negotiations and meetings.

The governing body of South American football explained how the measures will be so that teams that travel abroad should not go into quarantine. The most obvious problem that teams will have will be flights, the main sources for the spread of the virus. That is why the protocol indicates that all footballers who are going to travel, in addition to the rest of the delegation -coaches, doctors, props and referees-, must take the PCR test before boarding. In order to travel, of course, they must test negative and once they are in a foreign land, where they can stay for a maximum of 72 hours, they will not be obliged to comply with the 14 days of quarantine that countries usually require for those who enter. Fred Nantes, CONMEBOL's director of competitions, was in charge of explaining it in detail: "They arrive in the country and from the airport they go directly to the hotel. Eventually they may have some training but, beyond that, they only leave the hotel for the match. In...
Having extended the mandatory lockdown for the Buenos Aires metropolitan region until 17 July, the government´s cabinet has other problems that need to be dealt with immediately as well. To begin with, even though governments´ aid has benefited the lower class, the vast majority of the economically active population struggles to make ends meet and, therefore, starts to close down their businesses while CABA begins to reopen their economy. Secondly, the administration now embarks on a race against time to: resolve Argentina´s macro-economic problems and imbalance (concerning the fiscal situation and printing money), make our economy sustainable again (35,000 of Argentinian companies are considering to close their business) and revert the social consequences left behind by the pandemic and the previous mandate. The SEC is looking up actions with respect to the U.S. Oil Fund as it has shown a drop since April. Wells' notice provided by the SEC limited the investment in oil contracts by showing the possibility that it will not be able to reflect a spot price. USO sold contracts for May and bought for June postponed before the collapse. However, in the following months the ETF would shift a large part of its capital to contracts with a later date. Following the suspension of new shares, distance was generated at the fund's business price and future oil access performance . References Nair, A. S. (19 de 08 de 2020). The ChronicleHerald . The brutal reduction in tourism worldwide due to the COVID-19 pandemic directly attacks the countries of South Europe: Italy, Spain, Greece, Portugal and France. The World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) based in London, believes that the tourism sector is at risk of losing more than 100 million jobs and $2.7 trillion global dollars due to the health crisis. Since the beginning of March, no reservations have been made for the spring. For this reason, small tourist structures are forced to reimburse thousands of euros to customers. Today, 2 July, Spain reopened its borders to 14 countries and unlocked its borders with Portugal. However, health protocols will be maintained in order to ensure that the tourist industry does not decline fully. On the other hand, the tourist industry launched a global plan to overcome the crisis. The President of WTTC representing the private travel and tourism...

Nicolas had plenty of experiences and culture shocks to share with us, and from which we could all learn. Culture In the interview we can appreciate that Mr. Yamamoto missed Argentinian food, like Milanesa, also that when he went to Japan, also that when he went to Japan, he went with 6 friends and the bride, the transport was very punctual clean and he didn't have to wait long and he used to go to work. Professional and academic life He told us what his work was about, He works in a meal factory. There are different sectors and in the sector he stays, he has to mix every part of food. Athletes Kristina Mladenovic and Timea Babos were disqualified from the competition hours before their arrival, due to a quarantine notice received by public health services, as they had been in contact with a male player which tested positive for Coronavirus. Thanks to this, the athletes' women's doubles team was forced not to participate in the U.S. Open. Mladenovic complained about feeling like a prisoner after being isolated again, despite having undergone several tests giving negative. The USTA established that matches will continue with the necessary security measures. REFERENCES CNA - Channel New Asia . (06 de September de 2020). This week we had the opportunity to interview Lauren Stahl, a native American born in Michigan, who has lived there all her life. She gave us some insight about what she does for a living and her current studies. Apart from that, this was a particular occasion because it was the last interview of this different yet special year. Lauren has lived in Michigan all her life and has never travelled abroad. For this reason, she doesn't know any differences within cultures. She told us that she would like to visit Argentina and also commented that she has friends in the United States who had lived in Buenos Aires. Later on, we asked about her hobbies and social activities, but she explained that because of the pandemic she prefers to stay safe inside home. However, she used to do things like going to the cinema, restaurants and watching football games before all this. In addition, we asked for recommendations on what to do if we have the chance to visit the United States and she s...
After a year of waiting and delays, the most famous racing competition finally took place last weekend. Although, without a public and with a reduced number of teams due to the pandemic. The so far invictus company Toyota has won the 88th competition of Le Mans, and it is the third time in a row. It was also a third consecutive win for driver Sebastien Buemi and Kazuki Nakajima driving. In second place arrived the Rebellion car. Sadly, this was the last year that Rebellion participated in the WEC (World Endurance Competition), and Toyota was left as the only champion in the WEC series. Apart from this, the car in the third position was driven by José María López, who was born in Córdoba, which almost arrived in the first position, but due to some motor problems, it was overtaken. In the LMP2 category, the winner was the car from United Autosports. Theother two categories, GTPro (Gran turismo professional) and GTA (gran turismo amateur) were won by Aston Martin.
