At the edge of the health system collapse, society suffers from social isolation symptoms and side effects
Since the pandemic started in Argentina, 305,953 people have been infected with the virus, although the true number is likely to be higher; last Thursday there were 282 death nationwide. In this context, hospital staff, the ones who sand in the first line of combat, have been demanding a greater support from the government, as it is there
duty to protect patients but with the right medical equipment and labour conditions. Having 16,668 infected health employees nationwide, doctors are stretched to the limit and falling like flies, like union co-ordinator Rodolfo Arrechea said. Alternatively, society has been struggling with psychological effects including post-traumatic stress symptoms, confusion, and anger due to longer quarantine duration, infection fears, frustration, boredom, inadequate supplies, inadequate information (seen in news outlets and social media that can exacerbate restlessness) and financial loss, to name some. This article has been written by GARCEA María Belén, RICCI Manuel and VUGA Franco
